Between the endless traffic and lots of motorcycle drag racing on 2nd Avenue I was not able to sleep either of the nights I was there. The really bad: my room faced 2nd Avenue and 376. This is a preference but I hate hotel breakfast buffets (crappy entemanns, one pancake maker, watery scrambled eggs, etc.) The restaurant is great but you can't order a la carte for breakfast during the weekend. DON'T prepay for parking since you can't get in the lot until you check in in any case. It's much easier and cheaper to park in the garage next store, but that does not have in-out privileges. The bad: the parking lot is terrible-too small and too many spots for compact cars. (Note a program that started this week where you can get 500 IHG points if you don't have your room cleaned daily.) The location is very convenient for Schenley Park and Downtown. There is a very attractive walking trail along the river (other side of the technology buildings), the staff was helpful and attentive and the rooms are attractive and comfortable. First the good: the decor is very attractive and on point for the history of the area. We had a family gathering in Pittsburgh and I booked 5 rooms with different experiences in the different rooms. No other place to park so they have you captured. It's l$15 a day with a $5 parking tax (that's so PA). Bars are closed in PA, not restaurants who just happen to have a bar.īeware that parking in a private lot next to the hotel is $20 a day. The Grill/Bar was closed as well, even though we ate out at a different restaurant every night of our stay. We do not live in PA so do not know the states protocol regarding housekeeping etc. as long as I know what I am facing I am ok. I understand today's travel environment, but a little communication goes a long way. And, I had to make the bed up because I cannot stand getting into an unmade bed. Upon inquiry downstairs, I was told we could secure fresh towels if we asked and they would leave them in our room, No pickup on the soiled towels which piled up in our bathroom until we left 4 days later. Both individuals, btw, were not wearing mask (we had ours on). Told them we were leaving for the day and they promptly replied: there is no housekeeping service due to Covid 19 restrictions. We were leaving the room after our first night stay and met the housekeeping right outside our door. I only gave three stars for the following reasons:Ĭheck in was prompt and efficient however the individual who checked us in neglected to mention that there would be no housekeeping service. It was very clean and quiet and generally met our needs for a long weekend. One thing we did not consider, as we do live out of state, was the number of classmates not willing to drive 40 minutes for a reunion when it could be held in the town we graduated from although hotel rooms in the area are very very limited. We decided on a menu and DJ and sent information to fellow classmates who seemed very pleased with the venue as well menu. We were also offered a discounted rate for a block of rooms.rooms were very spacious and inviting. We were pleased with the service provided by Hotel Indigo thru Meg and decided to have the catering done in house to simplify our part as we live out of state.

She provided sample menus from Hotel Indigo and also a list of approved outside caterers for an additional option. A bar and several seating/conversation areas are located just outside of the Rialto Club and the entrance to the club room makes a statement of itself. We chose the Rialto Club as it is located downstairs.private area. Made an appointment with Meg Kozinsky, Events Director, to view event space to host our 30 year class was perfect.
